CLEANING PRODUCTS
The California Green Clean^tm system uses products that are proven to be safer for you and to offer superior cleaning effectiveness. The products we use are certified by Green Seal, a nonprofit independent agency dedicated to safeguarding the environment. Green Seal products meet the following criteria:

• The products will not be toxic to humans;
• The products will not contain any products that are carcinogenic or that are known to cause reproductive toxicity;
  
• The products will not be corrosive to the skin or eyes;
  
• The products will not be a skin sensitizer;
  
• The products will not be combustible;
  
• The products will be low or no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC);
  
• The products will not be toxic to aquatic fish;
  
• The products will be biodegradable;
  
• The products will be low in phosphorus;
  
• The product containers will be refillable and recyclable;
  
• The products will not contain the following:
  1. Alklphenol ethoxylates
  2. Dibutyl phthalate
  3. Heavy Metals including arsenic, lead, cadmium, cobalt, chromium, mercury, nickel, or selenium
  4. Ozone depleting ingredients
  5. Optical brighteners

To discourage animal testing, the products submitted for review by Green Seal may be previously peer reviewed or already undergone standardized testing demonstrating compliance. Also, non-animal (in-vitro) test results will be accepted.
 

VACUUM
The California Green Clean^tm  system uses enviromentally friendly  vacuums. Our vacuums are certified by the Carpet and Rug Institute Green Label Program to both thoroughly clean floor, carpets and other surfaces and do no damagenot damage. Our vacuums have a powerful four layer filtration system that captures 99.7% of particulate matter including bacteria, mold, dust, dust mites, and dirt down to .03 of a micron in size! In addition to vacuuming all carpeted areas, we also vacuum all hard floor surfaces. This is a proven method to maximize dirt and dust removal from your home, since traditional sweeping and mopping of floors misses substantial amounts of the dirt and dust you want removed from your home.
 

MICROFIBER
The third component of the California Green Clean™ system is microfiber cleaning cloths and mop heads. Microfiber is a polyester/nylon blend. The fibers within the micro fiber enable you to clean closer to surfaces and trap all the dust and dirt that bonds to the micro fiber material and is not released until the cloth is washed in hot water. Therefore, the dirt is not transferred from surface to surface while cleaning. Micro fiber cloths and mop heads have been proven to remove dirt and dust from surfaces and not simply push it around as traditional mops and rags do. As part of the California Green Clean^tm system we provide our regularly scheduled clients with their own set of color coded microfiber cloths. This prevents cross contamination from home to home! We provide three types of cloths: general cleaning are green, bathroom are blue, and dusting cloths are yellow. These rags are washed for you upon completion of your home cleaning.
 

OUR STAFF
The fourth component of the California Green Clean^tm system is our talented staff. Upon entering the California Green Clean family, our housekeepers enter training where they learn the methods, products, and principles of green cleaning. You can be assured that our staff members will arrive at your home well prepared to complete your California Green Clean experience.

The final component of the California Green Clean™ is system our office staff. For your initial meeting, we arrive in a Hybrid vehicle in our quest to cut carbon emissions and conserve energy. We schedule our housekeepers to minimize driving between clients' homes and make every attempt for the staff members to live close to their service areas. We attempt to be paperless, wherever possible doing most of our communication via e-mail and telephone. We e-mail our quality control/comment card directly to our client's e-mail versus leaving paper cards. Our office recycles all solid waste whenever possible. We print on recycled paper with soy ink.

We are participants in the Green Energy Program offered through SMUD,  the Sacramento Municipal Utility District. We are proud to announce we are a members of the Sacramento Sustainable Business Program- effective May 2008. The organization is comprised of businesses dedicated to preventing pollution and conserving resources.
