In a nutshell because, as we say here at California Green Clean,GREEN cleaning  is safer for you, safer for your family and safer for our environment. Unfortunately, government regulations are woefully inadequate to protect consumers against cleaning products that are dangerous to our health.  Big companies that make most of the mainstream cleaning products are not, by law, required to disclose the ingredients that comprise their cleaning products. Here is a challenge. Grab a bottle of your favorite cleaning product and look at the list of ingredients that make up the product. Chances are there is not a list of ingredients found on the label. Why? Because the compounds that make up these cleaners are considered “Trade Secrets” and do not have to be disclosed per government regulation! Many of these cleaning products are dangerous and have chemicals that are known or suspected carcinogens, endocrine disruptors and neurotoxins.  As a matter of fact, many of the chemicals in household cleaners in the U.S. are actually banned in European countries!

Luckily, today there are many safer products available to clean our homes. In addition to the off the shelf products that can be purchased in many places, there are the old fashioned standbys: White vinegar, baking soda and simple castile soap.

The reasons to clean GREEN are very real. Doing what we can to eliminate toxins from our environments may have direct impact on our personal health -a great place to start is by cleaning GREEN!
