Your bathroom can be safely, easily and thoroughly cleaned with mostly just white vinegar! Don’t worry about the vinegar smell as it completely dissipates after it dries.  In addition, there are a couple of simple recipes made with vinegar and basic ingredients found in most homes. Your bathroom will be wonderfully clean, disinfected and GREEN!

Tub, shower and lavatory scouring powder- 1 cup of baking soda, 2 teaspoons cream of tartar and 1/8 cup of borax combined in a container with lid. Shake well, sprinkle on and scrub with damp sponge.

Toilet bowl cleaner- Use one cup of Borax and one cup of vinegar in bowl. For stubborn stains let the mixture sit several hours.

Glass and mirror cleaner- In a spray bottle mix 50% vinegar and 50% water. Spray and wipe down with a lint free cloth.

Disinfectant- White vinegar is a great disinfectant! It kills 90% of bacteria, 82% mold and 80% of viruses. Spray toilet and sinks after the initial cleaning. Let the vinegar sit for a few minutes and then do a final rinse.

Floor cleaner- First, vacuum or sweep the floor. Fill a bucket with hot water, 1 cup of vinegar and one drop of dish soap.  Mop with a well rung out mop and allow to dry. No need to rinse.

Mold and Mildew killer- Spray full strength white vinegar to kill the mildew. If the mildew has stained, treat the stained areas with hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide has great bleaching power without toxic chlorine.
