CLEANING PRODUCTS
The California Green Clean System® uses products that are proven to be safer for you and to offer superior cleaning effectiveness.
Green Seal Certified products meet the following criteria:
The products will not be toxic to humans
The products will not contain any products that are carcinogenic or that are known to cause reproductive toxicity
The products will not be corrosive to the skin or eyes
The products will not have a skin sensitizer
The products will not be combustible
The products will have low or no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
The products will not be toxic to aquatic fish
The products will be biodegradable
The products will be low in phosphorus
The product containers will be refillable and recyclable
The products will not contain the following:
Alklphenol ethoxylates
Dibutyl phthalate
Heavy Metals including arsenic, lead, cadmium, cobalt, chromium, mercury, nickel, or selenium
Ozone depleting ingredients
Optical brighteners
To discourage animal testing, the products submitted for review by Green Seal may be previously peer reviewed or already undergone standardized testing demonstrating compliance. Also, non-animal (in-vitro) test results will be accepted.
In addition to Green Seal Certified products, California Green Clean uses white vinegar and products that are available for purchase at stores that carry a large selection of eco-friendly cleaning products. Our strongest cleaning agent used for the dirtiest of jobs is Simple Green. which is biodegradable and less toxic than conventional cleaners.
VACUUM
The California Green Clean System® uses two types of vacuums- a hand held portable model and an upright type. Both of the vacuums are certified by the Carpet and Rug Institute Green Label Program to thoroughly clean the floor and not damage your carpet. Our vacuums have a powerful filtration system that captures 99.7% of particulate matter including bacteria, mold, dust, dust mites, and dirt down to .03 of a micron in size! In addition to vacuuming all carpeted areas, we also vacuum all hard floor surfaces. This is a proven method to maximize dirt and dust removal from your home, since traditional sweeping and mopping of floors misses substantial amounts of the dirt and dust you want removed from your home.
MICRO-FIBER
Another component of the California Green Clean System® is micro fiber cleaning cloths and mop heads. Micro fiber is a polyester/nylon blend. The fibers within the micro-fiber enable you to clean closer to surfaces and trap all the dust and dirt that bonds to the micro-fiber material and is not released until the cloth is washed in hot water. Therefore, the dirt is not transferred from surface to surface while cleaning. Micro-fiber cloths and mop heads have been proven to remove dirt and dust from surfaces and not simply push it around as traditional mops and rags do. As part of the California Green Clean System®, we provide our regularly scheduled clients with their own set of color coded micro-fiber cloths. This prevents cross contamination from home to home! We provide three types of cloths: general cleaning are green, bathroom are blue, and dusting cloths are yellow. The micro-fiber are washed for you upon completion of your home cleaning.

California Green Clean practices environmentally responsible office practices. For your initial estimate, we arrive in a hybrid vehicle in our quest to cut carbon emissions and conserve energy. Our housekeepers are scheduled to minimize drive time and distance between client's homes. We make every attempt for the staff members to live close to their service areas. We are paperless, wherever possible, doing most of our communication via e-mail and telephone. Our office recycles all solid waste whenever possible. We print on recycled paper with soy ink.
All of our offices are participants in Green Energy Programs offered through local utility districts.These organizations are comprised of businesses dedicated to preventing pollution and conserving resources.
